Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th of November, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej (now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to be awarded a perfect score of 10 during an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi is a Romanian gymnastics instructor who was later Comaneci's coach who first came across Comaneci at the age of six. She participated in the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. In 1970, she won the title. The first time she competed in an international competition, which was an Olympic-style junior preolympic competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. And in 1973 and 1975, she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. Her debut as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champ winning four golds and one argent. She was the first female ever to successfully perform the backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry in her teens, when she performed as a figure skating duo with the twin sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol's professional career started in the entertainment industry in her teens. As a young girl, she began performing as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. Ice Capades featured performances of skating on ice with actors.
