Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born on August 9, 1976 from Beaumont Puy in Domme. She was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and teacher who were both teachers in the pursuit of her desire in the theatre. It was in stark contrast her earlier ambition to pursue a career as a primatologist since she was fascinated by monkeys. Success in the beginning and an immediate gain in acclaim made her a promising young actor. When she graduated in 1998, her degree she was invited to be a part of Jeunes Premiers, the French show on TV that is a talent scouting initiative, which is sponsored by Canal+. She also was awarded the top Young Actress prize at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. That led her start her acting career professionally. Tautou attended The Institut Catholique de Paris, and was a member of the church when she was an infant. She has since moved away from her religious background. The actress claims she's not necessarily Catholic. Apart from acting, Tautou did modeling, and was the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Additionally, she is a keen photographic passion and has recently created an exhibit of her photographs at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Through her photos, she concentrates on the spotlight and celebrity. The camera's lens is focused to journalists, who have sat and watched the actress following her sudden fame. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame when she landed her first role in a major film, as the main character in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie won international acclai box commercial success, and received acclaim by awards galas across the world. It's still the top grossing French language film to be released in the US. Following this film, Tautou appeared in numerous films, that ranged from British dramatics, to Jean Pierre Jeunet's Un long dimanche de fiancailles. Then she moved into Hollywood and co-starred with Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
