Eve was born to Trevor Eve (actor) and Sharon Maughan, a writer. She has two younger brothers Jack and George and was born in both the United Kingdom and Los Angeles United States. She went to Bedales School before taking her A Levels at Westminster School London. She studied English at St Catherine's College Oxford during the year of gap. It was Oxford to take part in student productions of An Ideal Husband Animal Crackers and The Colour of Justice. She was born into a family of mixed races, having and Indo British father Anthony Mitra of British descent as well as an Irish-born Irish mom Nora Downey. Her mother is the middle child of a family with multiple races. Her older brother Jason Mitra, and her younger brother Guyan Mitra, are all English actors. The younger brother of Guyan Mitra, is a renowned travel writer whose work was featured by Lonely Planet as well as The Sunday Times.
